This Issues Paper informs the Commissioner and the ACT on the potential of a circular economy for the ACT.
The paper follows the:
- 2017 Implementation Status Report of ACT's climate change policy, noting the leadership in moving to a renewable electricity supply; and
- 2018 Unfantastic Plastic Investigation that highlighted the opportunities of a circular economy;
- and will be an input for the 2019 ACT State of Environment Report.
The transition to renewables underpins the circular economy.
To illustrate the potential and raise awareness of a circular economy; Coffee, Beer and Riding have been explored conceptually.
Through collaboration between government and industry, a Circular#CBR strategy can strengthen our economy, create jobs, build resilience, provide leadership and inspiration for our region and our country.
