Annual climate statement 2014

It’s hot then it’s cold, there’s fire then there’s snow

The Bureau of Meteorology has released their annual climate statement for 2014, a report looking back at the climate of the past year. The main finding was that 2014 was the third warmest year on record, with the annual national mean temperature +0.91 above average.

Not only was 2014 the third warmest year on record, but a number of significant weather events occurred during the year.  You might remember Canberra had some freezing nights! Australia experienced extreme heat, bushfires, cyclones, flooding, severe storms, high winds, and snow and cold temperatures. For more information please go to
